About
We take a holistic approach to design, stripping away the non-essential and distilling projects to their essence. Our approach is collaborative and client-focused, resulting in spaces that are both timeless, and deeply personal.
The studio's oeuvre of architectural and interior design work consciously steer away from superficial notions of style and focuses instead on the core architectural fundamentals of spatial clarity, structural integrity and construction honesty. We believe in adopting a holistic approach to arrive at succinct design solutions.
Ar. Yinshi Lim, the Principal, is a Registered Architect with the Board of Architect, Singapore. She graduated from the National University of Singapore with a Masters in Architecture, and Bachelor of Arts (Architectural Studies). She is a recipient of URA's 20 Under 45 (2017) selection of emerging architects under the age of 45.
Ar. Yinshi Lim started her career with design-centric architectural firms, working on high-end residential, hospitality and interior design projects. twosquarefeet design studio came into being in 2020, as a means for her to pursue design in a mindful and sustainable manner.
The practice of architecture has been for her a ceaseless process of thinking and crafting; it entails a continuous distillation of ideas and forms, honing of space, and the refinement of details; an architectural kit of parts, assembled through time.
She believes that for architecture to have relevance, it needs to be purposeful. Architecture should reflect the conditions for its being, be grounded in time and place, and express its intrinsic materiality and construction. This requires an awareness of context, and appreciation for both the possibilities and limits afforded by structure, construction and materials.
